Memphis Wedding Highlight Video {Brooks Museum of Art} A Toast to Whitney & Brendon

I was so honored to travel down to Memphis, Tennessee to film Whitney & Brendon’s wedding highlight video! The location for both the ceremony and the reception was the stunning and glamorous MEMPHIS BROOKS MUSEUM OF ART - seriously such a gorgeous Southern venue!

Whitney and her bridal party started off the day getting ready together (Whitney did her own hair and makeup!). The morning was so relaxed with the girls toasting to champagne and mimosas, while jamming out to old school N’SYNC, Britney, and most importantly Spice Girls. I just loved the comfy pink robes Whitney made for her bridal party, especially since she added each of their initial’s to them!  The couple exchanged gifts that morning as well – Brendon wrote Whitney a beautiful love letter, and Whitney gave Brendon a gorgeous print of the PERITO MORENO GLACIER from their trip to Argentina. I’m not gonna lie, I want that print hanging in my house too – just stunning!

After gifts were exchanged everyone headed to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art to get dressed. Then Whitney and Brendon had their ‘First Look’ and shared a few precious moments together before all their friends and family joined them for pictures prior to the guests arriving.  The intimate ceremony was held outside, with a stunning floral arrangement by the GARDEN DISTRICT serving as the swoon-worthy romantic backdrop complete with the tall white architecture of the Museum. All the while a talented string quartet further added to the romantic setting. The Garden District also did the floral arrangements for a wedding that Prince William and Prince Harry attended in Memphis recently, so it is no wonder the flowers at W+B’s wedding looked regal too  I also loved that Whitney’s Dad not only walked the beautiful bride down the aisle, but officiated as well, adding the most heartwarming touch the the ceremony.

After the ‘I Do’s’ were said and the first kiss was planted on Whitney’s perfectly colored red lips,(seriously Whitney’s lip color was PERFECT and all of the bridal party members wore the same color – so clearly it works well with all hair and skin tones! You can buy this perfect Yves Saint Laurent ‘Rouge Pur Couture’ Glossy Stain in #20 ‘Rouge Enamel’ HERE, or a very similar yet cheaper and non glossy option by Nars HERE. )  …the guests headed to the cocktail hour while we stole the bride and groom away for some more images and video of the two of them. The string quartet played inside while the guests were served delicious hors d’oeuvre. I about died and went to heaven as I walked in and they were playing the theme song from DOWNTON ABBEY! Ahhhhhhhhh!! As if this day wasn’t already perfectly romantic already!

The couple ate their dinner together in a private room with no family, friends, photographers, or videographers present – which I thought was just SO special. I mean how many couple’s get a genuine moment to enjoy their wedding day together with just the two of them?  The cake was from FROST BAKE SHOP, and I was lucky to get to have a piece of the ever so delicious Strawberry Cake – OMG! YUM! No wonder it is their #1 selling cake! I really liked the special touch of having the couple’s parents and grandparent’s wedding photos on the cake table – especially the cake cutting ones!  The couple was introduced to the dancefloor for their first dance by GARY ESCOE’S ATOMIC DANCE MACHINE BAND – and oh my goodness were they one of the best bands I have ever seen at a wedding! They kept the dance floor packed all night long, and I really loved when they had Whitney and her Bridal Party get up and dance to ‘Proud Mary’ with the band!

I also loved the special moment when all of Whitney’s Chi Omega Sorority Sisters circled around the bride and groom, and sang ‘Shades’. Whitney works for Chi Omega Headquarters as the Director of Public Relations and Marketing, so there were tons of Chi Omega’s in attendance to serenade the couple! Fun side note: Whitney and Brendon were married on April 5th, which also happens to be the day Chi Omega was founded back in 1895

At the end of the reception, the couple’s family and friends headed outside to toss flower petals at the newly married couple as they happily exited the museum and got into their getaway car - so much fun was clearly had by all on this absolutely perfect day!

I also just have to say how wonderful it was to work alongside the talented Christen of Christen Jones Photography – as she was the amazing and talented photographer for the wedding! I cannot say enough about how well we worked together throughout the wedding day, and even though we had only met, I felt like I had know her for awhile by the day’s end and I hope we’ll get to both be apart of the same wedding again someday! You can check out her beautiful photos of Whitney and Brendon’s day HERE!

If you feel like you want to get to know this beautiful bride even more, you can check out Whitney’s witty blog ‘A Toast’ HERE where you can read all of her witty and hilarious posts about her entire wedding planning process. Since her blog is all about ‘toasting’ to the events in her life; whether everyday happenings or celebrity encounters, I thought it only fitting to open their highlight video with a few clips of champagne So cheers Whitney and Brendon to an absolutely perfect wedding day!
